About Milky Lane

Built
Loud.
Since 2016.

Milky Lane opened a single restaurant on Curlewis Street in 2016. Brick walls, hip-hop murals, over-the-top burgers, cocktails you photograph before you drink. Broadsheet profiled it as "A Restaurant Built on Instagram." A decade on, it's a burger, dessert and cocktail brand with venues across Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the ACT.

The Origin

2016.
A Burger Joint
Built For The Feed.

The founding idea was simple: make burgers that photograph as well as they eat, name them after the icons, paint the walls with the culture, then put the whole thing where the beach ends up on a Friday night.

Opening weekend went end-to-end packed. Broadsheet ran the profile that named the format · "A Restaurant Built on Instagram." More stores followed across New South Wales, then Queensland, then Western Australia.

The formula hasn't changed since: smashed patties, loaded fries, over-the-top shakes, and cocktails with a story. Everything else is amplification.

What Makes It Milky Lane

Three Things We Refuse To Compromise On.

01
The Food

100% Aussie beef, smashed to order on hot cast iron. Milk buns baked fresh. House-made sauces. Loaded fries built for two hands. Dessert cocktails that hit the table before the mains sometimes.

02
The Venue

Brick walls, hip-hop murals, cyan and hot pink neon, dark grey marble tables, tan leather booths. Every store built to feel like a party you were invited to · not a QSR you're waiting in.

03
The Soundtrack

Big hip-hop, late-night R&B, 2000s throwbacks. The playlist runs the room. DJs from Friday. Silence is not a Milky Lane sound.

The Venues

Every Store Is A
Show, Not A Shop.

Every store gets brick walls, hip-hop and pop-culture murals, neon, dark marble tables and leather booths. The look is unmistakably Milky Lane · but no two rooms are the same.

Every venue has its own atmospheric build and its own late-night rhythm. You'll know you're in a Milky Lane inside three seconds, and you'll know which one inside ten.

Dine-in, takeaway, delivery, functions, catering · the food is consistent everywhere. The atmosphere is what makes each store worth the trip.

The People

The Crew Runs
The Show.

Front of house, kitchen, bar, cocktail flair, management · Milky Lane hires locally in every suburb it opens in. Tips shared, and real career paths that lead to floor supervisor, venue manager and beyond.

We promote from within. A lot of our shift leaders and venue managers started on the floor · every new opening is another shot at running a store.

If the vibe on the floor feels like a party, that's because the people on the floor are having one. That's the culture. That's the hire.

The Community

Local Backed.
Always.

Every Milky Lane opens with the same rule · if we're in your suburb, we back the suburb. That can mean junior sports club sponsorships, school fundraisers, end-of-season feeds and long-term partnerships with local community groups.

Long-term relationships, not one-off photo ops. If your club or school wants to partner up, the community team is a form away.
